About the Author

Danielle Steel is one of the most recognized American authors of all time. She has written 84 novels with over 590 million copies in print in 47 countries and 28 languages. Since 1981, Steel has been on the New York Times Bestseller List, one or more of her novels have been on the list for over 390 consecutive weeks, a Guinness World Record. Twenty-one of her books have been adapted for television.

Steel has also written children's books, poetry and nonfiction. She wrote her first book when she was 19, and now often works on at least five books at a time, still using a typewriter to work on her manuscripts. In 2002, the French government named her an "Officier" of the Order of Arts and Letters. She is passionate about her nine children and art. Steel spends her time between Paris and San Francisco.
