Born Patricia Denise Robins on February 1, 1921 in Sussex, England. Second daughter of Denise Robins, a romance novelist, and Arthur Robins, a corn broker on the Baltic Exchange. Her mother, daughter of the also writer Kathleen Clarice Groom, encouraged her to write, and at 12 she published her first book. She worked with a woman's magazine editorial team, also published more children's novellas and romance novels like her mother under her maiden name, Patricia Robins. Since 1967, she also used the pseudonym of Claire Lorrimer.
Married, Patricia Clark had three children. She lived in a four hundred year-old, oak beamed cottage in rural Kent, she has eight grandchildren. In 2007, she wrote her autobiography "You Never Know". Patricia passed away on 4 December 2016 in Hove.
