When she first saw the beautiful, silent lady in the garden, lovely young nurse Jane Tracy thought she must be dreaming. Then she discovered the old tintype in her patient Phillip Corbin's desk drawer. It was a picture of the same woman -- the woman Corbin still loved though she'd been dead for thirty years!
Jane had never believed in ghosts, yet she didn't know what else her strange visitor could be. But why was the ghost there? Was she waiting for Phillip to die? Or was she there to protect him from a murderer's hand and to warn Jane and handsome Doctor Larry Saxon of the danger both patient and nurse faced from the unknown person who was trying to prevent Phillip from ever regaining consciousness? The only thing Jane could be sure of in the great old mansion where Phillip's heirs awaited his death was that she must protect her patient's life at any cost. But she did not realize how high that price would be till death was stalking her so closely that even Larry might not be able to reach her in time...
