Maggie Connors has made a killing in the stock market for herself and her clients. And although she prefers doing her tax return by starting with the refund box and working her way back, she invites her former boyfriend -- an IRS agent -- to attend a stockholder celebration with her. The gala evening sparks a disaster and Maggie soon finds herself out of money, out of work, and with no way to pay the three million she promised to a bunch of sick kids. Then there's the small matter of the dead woman police discover in her car trunk.
