The Bungalo Boys first stormed onto the children's book scene in 1986 in their epic cowboy adventure, The Last of the Tree Ranchers. Since their debut as tree-riding ranchers, the Bungalo Boys have appeared in four books that have sold more than 200,000 copies.
Three Stories High is in honor of their success, an omnibus reader that includes the first three adventures in one volume:
- The Last of the Tree Ranchers: the Boys' quiet ranch routine is disrupted when a band of thieving beavers starts to steal their trees. When the Boys give chase, they wreak havoc on every tradition of the Old West.
- Bushmen Brouhaha: heading onto the plains of Africa's Serengeti on safari, the Boys capture an elephant tree and then try to rescue a group of bushmen who are being harassed by hungry baboons.
- The Champions of Hockey: as the descendants of a long line of hockey heroes, the Boys face off against the awesome combined power of the hulking Bruins and the speedy Penguins in a competition for the coveted Bungalo Birdbath trophy.
