The Drive-In and Diner Mystery — Eric Johnson

Professor Roger Strong is a car guy who plans to own a diner or drive-in (so that he will have an endless supply of hamburgers), but he suddenly finds himself in the middle of an investigation of a murdered television executive. Amid bits of amiable banter, Dr. Strong and Sheriff Joey Bucket munch on cheeseburgers, and they study the puzzling murder clues. Additional information is provided to them by a host of quirky characters, and it appears that the murdered man was the victim of identity fraud, and an unusual weapon has been used to commit a violent crime. Only the surprise ending will reveal whether the professor and the sheriff can properly identify the gun and the shooter.
