Peter Fortune is ten years old and loves to daydream. Peter wonders what would it feel like to live inside the body of a wise old cat one day and a cranky little baby the next; to rummage through a kitchen drawer filled with useless objects and discover some not-so-useless cream that actually makes people vanish; or to be cornered by a very bad doll who has come to life and is out for revenge. He wonders all the time. Peter doesn't have a problem daydreaming -- but the grown-ups do. They just don't understand him -- and all the extraordinary things that constantly fill his head seem to bring him nothing but trouble!
