Can a twelve-year-old, five-foot-nine-inch girl who thinks she has "horsy" teeth find happiness for a summer?
It's bad enough that Tina's mother and father get separated. And Tina can't understand what her dad sees in "Rosebud," his new girlfriend. Tina's brother Arthur spends all of his time either stuffing his mouth with food or bugging Tina. On top of all this, that new girl, Karla, is trying to butt into the private club Tina started with her best friends.
Tina thinks nothing worse could happen, except maybe finding the Creature from the Black Lagoon in her closet. But then she finds out she's being sent away for the rest of the summer!
