Spike is a real chicken owned by the cousins of the author on their ranchette out West. Readers learn about Spike from a TV Host who is interviewing her, from Spike herself and from one of the children who joins them in the interview. Amazing facts about Spike are added to by hilarious fictitious events created by the author. The story is all dialogue, and can be performed by three actors. The front material in this book lists the information about Spike that is true under Nonfiction, and the material that is not true under Realistic Fiction and Fantasy.
