Disillusioned and apathetic after four years of college, fledgling reporter Mahatma Grafton returns to his hometown to begin work at a local newspaper. The eccentric commitment of an unlikely welfare crusader, an exchange student from Cameroon and a French language rights activist begins to consume him.
