Prairie Town — Lauran Paine

In, Marshal Redleaf of Mandan, a third Indian Chet Redleaf must find out who stole a shipment of $4,000 from the local stage, while the driver and guard were busy working on a wheel on the coach. The robbers left tracks, but not boot tracks, moccasin tracks. The problem is that Indians have no particular use for money, and Redleaf comes to think that very possibly it might have been an inside job.

Prairie Town opens with a stranger's murder. A murder that finally has easy-going Marshal Hank Herman fighting for his principles.
