Susan Gordon felt delighted when magnetic Chet Williams, the New Orleans textile tycoon, hired her to catalogue the books in his huge library. She admired Bells Acres, his lovely mansion. And she was fascinated by the man himself, who had recently been acquitted of killing a nightclub singer. But her life at the posh estate became a nightmare when a phantom in red, looking just like the singer, appeared--as if to give Susan a warning. Then Chet--insisting there was no ghost--began to act very strangely. Susan wanted to trust her handsome boss, even when her own life was in danger. But her suspicions grew like poisoned weeds--and the poison was strong enough to kill!
