There are some pretty weird grown-ups living in Bailey City. But this Halloween, Mrs. Jeepers is the weirdest of them all. Trick-or-treaters go inside her house . . . and never come out! Could Mrs. Jeepers really be turning them into monsters?

"We did," Eddie reminded them.

"No kid in their right mind would go in there alone," Howie added.

"Ben has never been in his right mind," Eddie said.

A bat swooped near a streetlight and a dog howled a few streets away. Wind whispered through the branches as the kids waited. They waited and waited, but Ben didn't reappear.
