Nine live... and counting
Boston freelance writer Theda Krakow thinks the local "cat lady" Lillian Helmhold will make a good feature story. When she finds the old woman dead on the floor of her rambling old Victorian, Theda begins snooping--as milling cats and a mystery pique her interest.
The victim's young friend, a punk rock waitress named Violet who helped feed the cats, tells Theda that someone has been breaking into the house. But searching for what? Adding to the complexities are Lillian's mentally challenged son and a greedy real estate developer. But, as Theda discovers, Lillian's breathtaking secret was hers alone--until a killer found out. Curiosity didn't kill any of the cats. But it just might be fatal to Theda.
