Maybe — Raymond Hunter Pyle

When Bill Maybe, retired Navy SEAL, moves to Boone's Branch Landing in the Tennessee Mountains he is hoping to find some peace and quiet. What he finds when he arrives is a small town living in fear. The source of their fear seems to be a gang of toughs who have set up a crystal meth lab in the hills near the town. As Maybe is drawn into the town's troubles, he discovers something else in the hills, something he can't understand, something he refuses to believe.
