Antique Murder In Modern Times
Jane Wheel, former tough-as-nails career woman, is a "picker" for an antique dealer, sniffing out "killer stuff" at estate sales, auctions, and flea markets in suburban Chicago. Jane happily spends her weekends scrounging through moldy boxes looking for vintage postcards and Bakelite buttons. But she's already having a bad week when she discovers the murdered body of her neighbor, a fellow collector and the wife of a man Jane kissed at a recent party. And just when she thinks things can't get any worse, Jane stumbles upon a second corpse and suddenly finds herself the prime suspect.
Luckily, homicide detective Bruce Oh has an open mind and lets Jane put her talent for sleuthing to work. Aided by her best friend Tim, she sets out to catch a killer who collects dead bodies, along the way picking up early American pottery and antique photo albums. With a malicious murderer closing in, Jane begins to wonder if finding "killer stuff" is worth being killed over...
