Bree Trehearn discovered computer files she wasn't supposed to see. Now she's on the run, hiding from a criminal with murder on his mind. When Bree shows up on Sanibel Island, Florida, with a cat named Gabriel and a car full of computer parts, ex-cop Cody North doesn't know what to do with her. He can see that Bree is everything he isn't--open, spontaneous, and close to the God Cody stopped trusting years ago. Yet for some reason he can't turn his back on her. And so, against his better judgment, he lets her stay on for a few days.

Bree soon turns Cody's vacation condo complex--and his life--upside down, and he begins to wonder if this beautiful whirlwind is actually just what he needs. Then Bree disappears, leaving Cody devastated and fearing for her life. He must call on all his old police skills--and a renewed faith--if he hopes to ever see Bree again.
