Alvin Hoople just can't wait to get to Philadelphia. He'll see the Liberty,Bell, Independence Hall, and the U.S. Mint. The best thing will be the Phillies baseball game. Alvin is the world's biggest Phillies fan and it's Bat Night. He'll even get a souvenir bat!

But the minute the Hooples get on the highway everything seems to go wrong. Weather trouble, pesky little sister trouble, and finally, the worst of all ... car trouble.

A ride in a tow truck is a lot of fun, but it won't make up for missing the Phillies game. The day turns out to be full of amazing surprises -- Monsterburgers! Mr. Clam! Cows that give chocolate milk! But will Alvin get his souvenir bat at the end of the funniest car trip ever?
