Clem has every reason to be afraid.
When Clem, her husband Mason, and their young daughter leave for the Peruvian mission field, Clem is filled with foreboding. Nearly twenty years ago her mother and father died in Peru and for Clem, the mountainous South American country is a dark and dangerous place. Now her greatest worry is the safety and survival of her child.
Then tragedy strikes, almost predictably, accompanied by the wrenching aftershocks.
Mason, immersed in the mission's work, seems not to care about Clem's heartache. Clem herself is powerless to prevent the inevitable slipping away from Mason, and from God. Against that tragic day can God bring light and life, even love, out of the darkness?
