Fear for Frances — Veronica Heley

Frances Chard was as sensible as she was beautiful. She did not believe in ghosts or curses, but when she became governess at Broome Court, she met people who believed in both. The new Lord Broome was a soldier who had recently been wounded in South Africa. Returning to his native land, he was attacked, robbed, and brought back to the Court to die. His family quarreled over his will, and he was neglected by his servants.
