Gr. 2-This simple story shows a small dove and her mate going about their daily routines and building a nest. Together they keep the egg safe and warm until their baby bird hatches. Attractive watercolor illustrations done primarily in soft blues and greens depict the avian family. Only two drawings show the little girl who serves as narrator watching the birds from behind her bedroom window. Each line of text is accentuated with the cooing of the doves. A final note on the inside back cover offers further details on the particular species of dove featured in this story. This is a lovely book, most suitable for classroom use and story hours at public libraries. M.O.B. Copyright 2001 Cahners Business Information.
