Soft-boiled Albuquerque P.I. Bubba Mabry is way short on cash when pimp Sultan Sweeney, late of N'Orleans, strolls into his office. Sultan is working the old Route 66, Central Avenue, and somebody's killing his 'babies.' The cops won't tell Sultan anything, so Bubba's his boy, even through he's already on The Case of the Missing Kewpie Dolls.

It's a local election year and the politicans and preachers are gunning to clean up 'Sin-tral Avenue,' where the Desert Breeze Motor Inn, Bubba's humble home, is located. God's army, commanded by the fiery Reverend Skip Jericho and crusading councilman Quentin Dudley, is coming to his front door. But someone is still slaughtering teenage whores on 'The Curse.' Is it one of God's soldiers? Or a deadly competitor in the 'love for sale' business? With a snarling Doberman named Baby out for his blood and Sultan and two rogue cops on his tail, Bubba's got to catch the killer - before the killer catches him.
