When nineteen-year-old Phyllis Hawkins learns of the marriage that her father arranged for her, relegating her to loveless, hopeless future, she flees her home on the farm and goes to the city to fend for herself. Past a score of dashed hopes and disappointments, she is able to make a better life for herself, overcoming the poverty and ignorance that once stalked her path. However, the better life costs her some rash vows. Will she keep her vow never to marry, or will her heart call upon her to make yet Another Vow?
