My name is Flynn Collins.I am sixteen.I am not infected. Zombie High was crumbling. With our ammunition dwindling and a harebrained rescue attempt that forced us to sacrifice an entire section of the school, I knew it was only a matter of time before we would be forced to lay down our guns and resort to hand-to-hand combat. The others weren't ready for that and I feared that the body count would soon rise. There had been losses on both sides but we felt it far worse than the Lame Brains. They had an unending flood of bodies but each death took a heavy toll on us. While the soldiers worked on a plan to signal for help from one of the other Safe Zones, I focused on training. Help was a pipe dream and I wasn't going to stake my life on it. If things were falling apart here, why should we think it was any better in other places?Time was running out and fate decided to spit on us when I spotted a young boy in the upper window of the abandoned lower school building during my rounds. Roan told me that it was just my imagination, that no one had been left behind, but I knew what I saw. And I knew what I had to do. Life at Zombie High was about to get reckless.
