Wybert Strike First, Strike Fast — David James

Wybert is a foot soldier in King Arthur's Army fighting the heathen Saxons. There is nothing refined about Wybert, he is a hard drinking uncouth soldier who saves the life of a fallen knight, and so, with his ability as a swordsman he is knighted by King Arthur. Reluctantly he is obliged to start taking baths and using lotions to make himself smell better, much to the amusement of his comrades. However, his knighthood does not diminish his love of ale and noticeably improves his wenching! Wybert's adventures in battle and in bed are compulsive reading.
