THE COMPETITION ..
The boat deck was windy...a salty wind that could be tasted. Suzy felt like a Valkyrie, borne on the wild wind. She began to run-- and would have collided with a couple standing close together in a sheltered corner if a low, passionate voice hadn't stopped her stock-still. "Jay, oh, Jay!" The voice was that of Judy Cartwright. Her arms were around Jay Martin's neck and his head was bent as he stopped her words with a kiss. The seconds went by, and still Suzy stood. At last she backed off the way she had come... Over Jay's shoulder, Judy watched her go.
