Thalia's mother has kept her estranged from the father she has never known. When she finds that he has paid for her schooling and asked her to visit him many times, she believes she will find what she has longed for all of her life -- the warmth of a loving and caring family. She travels hopefully from London to a ranch in a western state of the USA, only to find that she has been prejudged because of her mother's cruelty. Except for her father, she finds only suspicion and contempt. Her sweetness, patience, and Christian standards begin to overcome this and she finds herself caught up in the lives of those around her. She finds that when one is close to family members one must accept their problems and worries as well as their love.
