Over the years, first as a police officer and now as a private eye, Beryl Swallows has solved many crimes. But this case is different. Beryl is hired by the victim, Mary Lou Sanders. The police report states that Mary Lou committed suicide. But a letter written by Mary Lou six years before her death says differently. Mary Lou not only claimed that she would be murdered, she also listed the suspects -- three close childhood friends of Mary Lou and Beryl. Instead of renewing old friendships, Beryl finds herself making new enemies.
