This is a light-hearted cozy set in Whistling Pines, a senior assisted-living facility. When Peter Rogers, the recreation director is asked to fill in for the director of the Two Harbors City Band there's no way he could anticipate that one of the band members would be targeted by a murderer during a concert at the Lake County Fair. While trying to find the attacker and trying to understand why one of his residents was injured by a bull in the cattle barn, Peter is stretched and stressed by his elderly neighbor, his girlfriend who wants Peter's colorful mother to meet her buttoned-down parents, and an overly thankful musician who feels he saved her life. "A worthy sequel to Whispering Pines," wrote reader Frannie B. "It left me whistling Sousa marches with a smile on my face."
