Where'd You Get the Gun, Billy? — Fran Arrick

When one of their classmates kills another with a gun, two high school students try to come to terms with the tragedy by examining the motives for the killing and by tracing the acquisition of the weapon.

When 15-year-old Lisa is brutally shot to death by her 16-year-old boyfriend, their friends are shocked and outraged. David and Liz are particularly devastated and don't understand how Billy got a gun in the first place. They do some investigating through a semi-retired policeman and discover the many ways a gun might wind up in the hands of a would-be criminal.
