What a Wimp! — Carol Carrick

Barney is playing with his new sled when Lenny Coots and his friend suddenly show up, grab the sled, and spoil Barney's fun. Why do they have to pick on him?

Barney doesn't know many people in Hillside yet. His parents have recently been divorced, and Barney misses his dad, his friends, and his old school. Now it seems as if that bully Lenny is always calling him a wimp, or waiting for him on the way home.

Barney thinks it's useless to fight back and hopes his older brother will save him from Lenny's threats. But gradually he realizes that facing up to Lenny is something he'll have to do on his own.
