War at Nugget Creek — Wayne C. Lee

Texan Dan York came to Goldtown to give his stepsister Carlista her inheritance and investigate the buggy accident that had taken the lives of his father and stepmother. Before long Dan uncovers other mysterious deaths in the area and becomes embroiled in a vicious war between two brutal cattle barons. Finding himself a target, Dan hides out by night in the ghost town of Nugget Creek while by day he tries to untangle the complex relationships and behaviour of people driven by love, power and greed.
