New beginning, same bad ending Moving to sunny Florida from Louisiana during spring break, wasn't suspiciousat all. I knew what was going to happen, a lot of gawking at the new girl, guystrying to figure out how desperate and insecure I was and girls wanting toknow if I was here to take over, bow down or fade into the background. I haddecided on the latter... until I saw my neighbor next door secretly casting inthe woods. Florida wasn't looking so bad after all.I got close enough to hear Mr. Popular trying to banish witches like me.Joel is powerful, gorgeous and completely ignorant of witches. I know howkind they call themselves spirit workers as if they have a high and holycalling. They think witches are fakes and worse charlatans who prey onthose without magic. Well, all of that changes when Mr. know-it-all opensa doorway for a spirit that he shouldn't have, and I close it.To save him I have to bind him to me so he wouldn't get trapped in a spirit plane. Okay, the binding thing sounds bad at first, but in my defense I had no choice.I mean I couldn't let him die, I don't do that. Well, turns out Joel isn't thenobody I thought he was but the next in line to run the local spirit walker clan.So, you're thinking walk away right.. well, this binding thing. It's the first timeI've really done it and until I can find a way to unbind us every spirit andsupernatural being thinks Joel is a gateway to come through whether he'swilling or not. He's never met a witch like me.. in fact that's the other problemno one has every met a witch like me.Hey, the binding will fade soon, I hope. We'll just pretend to be together untilit fades or... one of us kills the other.
