Unwanted Witness — George Douglas

Edmund Bradley, archivist at the University of Deniston is found murdered in his office. His expected visitor cannot be found, nor can Dr. Lewis Peel, with whom Bradley had quarrelled. Investigating, Hallam and Spratt confront missing "top secret" papers and a second murder. The scene shifts to London, to a nursing home and a cremation at Golders Green. The mystery is unravelled when a crippled student determines to overcome his handicap by engaging in a forbidden climb of the university clock tower.
