Truth and Rumor — Jane Gillespie

Two strangers come one summer to a peaceful Surrey village: John, a young clergyman of more goodwill than decorum, and Daniel, a sober doctor who is reluctant to discover a truth concerning his father's past. As their lives become entwined with village life neither suspects the romantic complications that eventually confront them, nor the envy, gossip and disgrace which threaten to thwart the growth of true love.
