Izzie has a perfectly good boyfriend, thank you, so when Tristan shows up at school she thinks he's a great catch for her best friend. (Even if he is the best-looking boy she has EVER met.) And surely a love philtre, doctored with a little magic, will help the process along. Then Izzie and Tristan both drink the love philtre -- by accident! -- and it turns out that love philtres do work. Now Izzie has a boyfriend she doesn't love and a new guy whom it's likely she'll love forever, even if she doesn't really like him -- and to top it off, there are magical creatures around who seem to want to kill her. Good thing Tristan has that sword. . . .
