Thorndancer always knew he was different from the other skunks. They were black with a white stripe. He was white, with a black stripe. He also wondered what lay outside the field and felt the need to journey forth. The other skunks warned him that such a journey was dangerous and deadly, urged him to stay in the field, and finally cast him out without so much as a backward glance.
Thorndancer is a coming of age story that explores the onset of young adulthood through the eyes of a young skunk. Suitable for children ages 13 and up, and written so that adults will enjoy it too.
