This is a children's story for adults, too, illustrated with the author's watercolor portraits of her cats as well as some purely imaginary felines. Readers will appreciate why the man has thirty-four cats, why he has named them as he has, and have the opportunity to name a few themselves. This first edition does not have the eight supplemental paintings that were created for the solo show. They are included in the second edition.
