The Village — Alton Gansky

The team arrives in Newland, North Carolina, confused, uncertain, and emotionally wounded. Expecting the kind of warm greeting that is legendary in southern towns, they find instead a village whose people want nothing more than to force the “tourists” to move on, something our team refuses to do. Then, in a blink of an eye, a painful transition takes place. Everything changes -- and not for the good. Newland has become New Land, a place similar to the one where they had just spent the night. Sadly, similar isn't enough. With the help of someone they remember as a lost little girl, they undertake the most challenging mystery they've ever faced. They must succeed; the lives of scores of people as well as their own depend on the solving of a problem they barely understand. The clock is running out for them and it is running fast.
