Twelve-year-old Meggie Malone hates the killer schedule her widowed father has imposed on her. She always has to be somewhere and do something, leaving no time to hang out or just do nothing. Her father, a science teacher, is experimenting to clone frogs, which gives Meggie an idea. She'll make a clone of herself! Her clone can take over everything on her killer schedule, including going to school and doing all her chores. Even Meggie is amazed when she actually clones herself, and then clones the entire sixth grade at school. All goes well, until the clones start to vanish. Even worse, Meggie regrets cloning herself, because she's put her clone into her life, but taken herself out of it. Now, Meggie has to figure out how to get rid of all the clones, hers included. Not an easy problem to solve, but Meggie is resourceful, and she is up to the challenge.
