Young, attractive Richenda came to Alton Retreat hoping to find respite from the tragedy of her parents' untimely death. The stately mansion on the Sound seemed the perfect place to pick up the pieces of her suddenly shattered life.
But it wasn't long before she realized that the antiquated estate was anything but a haven of rest. It was a grim old place, shrouded in violent mystery and malice, where she and those she loved were under threat of death.
Terrified and bewildered, Richenda tried in vain to escape. But it was too late: the Trap was sprung. She had unwittingly entered a nightmare world, and daylight might never come again for her…
Richenda awoke with a scream at the sound of the eerie, subdued whispering outside her door. Scurrying to the keyhole, she tremblingly attempted to peer through at the mysterious speakers. But there was a key in the door…it was locked from the other side!
Frantically, she tried to reason with herself. Is this what Farr Morgan had meant in trying to persuade her to leave the old place? Was this… The Trap?
