The Sword and the Sorceress — Christopher Woods

The sorceress, Serafine, and Kort, a former Sword of Fallanasi, are Marines. They are guards in the city of Rhyme, the jewel of the Rhymen Empire. In a city of close to a hundred thousand people, they investigate crimes and keep order.As they investigate crimes, mysterious disappearances and strange changes in character that seem to plague the city point to something dark happening behind the scenes.When they dig deeper they find that the only thing standing between Rhyme and the growing darkness set to consume the whole city is a Sword and a Sorceress.
