After Tara's step father attempted to rape her, Tara decided to pack up her Jeep Cherokee and move to New York to finish her college education of becoming an architect. Since school was out for the summer, Tara drove the back roads from Northern California to New York, wanting to see the country. As she was traveling through Arizona, her Jeep became disabled on a lonely stretch of highway. Stuck in the middle of nowhere, Tara was forced to walk almost fifteen miles to the nearest gas station. The next morning, Tara returned to the gas station only to find that it would take a week to repair her Jeep and it would cost five hundred dollars, money she didn't have. Months later, Tara traveled to New York studying to become a rape Counselor, the architect schooling forgotten. Several years later, Tara would counsel a rape victim that would turn out to be her identical twin sister Sarah that she never knew she had.
