Two women are drawn together by death--and held together by a terror they dared not name!
The House Was Haunted...
The long drive from Reno to Atlanta helped erase some of the unhappiness from Adrienne's mind. But the trip was scarcely one of joy, uniting her as it did with her brother's widow, Claire, who was living with her children in the eerie place they called Hilltop House.
It soon was more than the bonds of a shared tragedy that held the two young women prisoners of their emotions--it was the the tightening, invisibly weaving web of the house itself!
CRASH!
Something unseen, but nevertheless very substantial, lifted Adrienne's coffee cup from her hands and set it hurtling across the room where is smashed against the wall.
For an instant, Claire continued to pour coffee. Her hands jerked as the cup shattered against the wall. "What--Adrienne--whatever--"
"Claire, I didn't do that!"
There was something absolutely unreal about the way Claire turned her head to the wall...
