Nancy could not help but be intimidated and awed by her first glimpse of her new home in London. The stately mansion was hundreds of years old and showed the strength of its age. Her brother had just inherited the house - long rumored to be the hiding place of a vast treasure.
No sooner had they arrived than someone began to try to drive them away. Who were the mysterious intruders and what were they after - the ancient treasure or the destruction of the last of the Benjamins?
DEADLY LEGACY
As Nancy reached the archway formed by the two stone columns far overhead she looked up at the massive stonework about her. For a moment she had the impression that the very stones of the house had assumed malignant shapes to frighten her away, to tell her she wasn't wanted there.
Her eye was suddenly attracted to a movement of the drapes in one of the windows. She saw a head at the window, but it pulled back before she could make out what it looked like.
There was a rumbling noise above them, and Nancy looked up just in time to see a large, square stone hurtling downward from the arch high above.
