Aloha Matilda…
“Practical” was the way people saw Matilda Mathews. It made her giggle as she stood on the deck of the sleek ocean liner: what could be less practical than taking her savings and using them for a trip to Hawaii? But it would take much more than packing her bags and abbreviating her name to “Tilda” to turn her into someone like her carefree cabin-mate Peggy Page. And while she might attract a strong and handsome man like Bert Wycliff, she was unable to return his feelings, because buried deep in her was a tragic memory she refused to face. Until she could bring that secret out into the open, Tilda could never hope to know life without fear or to welcome the love symbolized by the yellow-feathered cloak of Hawaiian kings.
Hero: Bert Wycliff
