Only a few days before the spectacular Rose Parade in Pasadena, California, the Bobbsey twins visit with the Hamlin family. Mr. Hamlin is a well-known float builder and he invites the Bobbseys to help decorate the floats for the parade.
But when they arrive at the factory, they discover that it has been maliciously vandalized. Buckets of food coloring have been poured over the beautifully-prepared flowers!
Off to catch the culprit, the young detectives are beset by intriguing clues -- a message in a piƱata, gold foil-covered chocolates hidden in a Treasure Hut, and a money tree -- which almost steer them off the trail. The day of the parade, though, the children make more than one surprising discovery!
