The Ring Bearer — Joe Purkey

Ace and Paula Sleuth were flying to Las Vegas, for what they thought would be a nice quiet vacation, but a would-be terrorist on their flight had other plans until Ace discovered his dastardly plot and saved about 150 passengers from certain death. That was the precursor of things to come after their arrival at the MGM Grand where Ace was commissioned to find out how a cheater was winning at blackjack. The Author, Joe Purkey, is a Former Engineer who spent twenty years designing nuclear power plants in which he strongly believes. He and his devoted wife, Joan, his proof Reader and his inspiration, reside in Knoxville, Tennessee. I've just finished reading Acer Sleuth, Private Eye by Joe Purkey. It was a delightful, fun read with many interesting twists and turns of the plot. The book is loaded with tidbits of interest to history buffs, math whizzes, technologically savvy, science aficionados, and local regional enthusiasts....all of which contribute to the story of how the team of Brad and Ace worked together to bring about a closer look at the American legal system as well as their case. The book is easy to read and the short chapters make it seem like the reader is flying through the story. The plot development keeps the reader's interest and the story color "extras" work together with the plot to educate and inform the reader about many of today's important issues without being heavy-handed. -Martha Fuller Martha Fuller is a multi-talented knowledgeable wife and mother from Kingsport, Tennessee, who has a way with words, and is very adept at reading a book and judging it by its contents rather than by its cover. -Joe Purkey
