Katie Frazer can hardly believe it when Brian Parks, the heartthrob of the sophomore class, asks her out. It's a romantic dream come true -- until their Teen Living class is given a major assignment. The sophomores must carry around ten-pound bags of salt for three weeks and treat them like real, live babies! Though Katie takes the project seriously, Brian treats the whole thing as a joke.

Then Katie meets John Macmillan. John thinks that both the project and Katie are pretty terrific, and she begins to have second thoughts about her relationship with Brian. Is it possible that their romance isn't the real thing after all?
