Fourteen year old Martin Rogers, descended from the famous soldier
and Indian fighter, Major Robert Rogers, dreams of life away from the family farm in Vermont and yearns for the adventures of which he has only read of in books. Dreams become reality when he stumbles upon a wounded Confederate corporal. For Marty, life changes forever and growing up is forced upon him. It is a challenge he accepts, if not wholeheartedly, with courage and determination.
Texan, Shelby Kingdom, is sixteen years old and already a veteran of serveral crucial battles. His incarceration as a prisoner of war in one of the North's most heinous prison camps leaves him scarred and ready to serve the Confederacy in any way possible. In this, his last assignment, he will go against all odds to prove himself a worth son of the South.
Based on a true incident, the northernmost raid by the Confederacy on the Vermont town of St. Albans.
